Northbrook Vineyard is home to what is thought to be the oldest surviving Bacchus vines planted in 1988.
At Northbrook we celebrate the restoration of nature and reconnection with the land through the creation of our wines. Its our original Bacchus grapes planted nearly 40 years ago that are still producing our outstanding Bacchus today. Bacchus is a white grape variety, named after the Greek god of grape-harvest. This Germanic grape variety typically does well in the English climate as its disease resistant and can tolerate cooler temperatures, whilst it tends to produce higher yields than the more classic varieties such as Chardonnay.
New to Bacchus and inquisitive to find out why we love it so much give our refreshing 2023 Bacchus a go which is the perfect accompaniment to any BBQ with family or friends this summer. Handpicked in Hampshire our Bacchus is vibrant and crisp with ripe gooseberry, apple and peach flavours. Order online or collect from our cellar door in Bishops Waltham, Hampshire.
